Get an Online Medical Marijuana recommendation in under 30 minutes.
Fast and easy online MMJ card
Over the weekend I used the online medical assessment site, Onlinemedicalcard.com, to get my medical marijuana card. I have never had my MMJ recommendation before, but with new regulations passing and taxes possibly on the rise, I felt compelled to get a med card to help offset the rising cost. I was not sure what to expect during the process, sometimes online certifications can be difficult to navigate and be time-consuming. Onlinemedicalcard.com has shown me otherwise.

Tips for your online medical card review.
Now that I have gone through the online medical marijuana recommendation process, I have a couple of tips to help make it easier for you. Before you start, make sure you gather all the necessary documents, California ID or Drivers license and your debit or credit card. Be sure to download the eVisit app on your phone, or it will take a few extra minutes to complete the process. Also, if you’re using a laptop, upload a picture of your ID and save it on your desktop for quick use. I was unprepared and the process still only took me 30 minutes start to finish.
Online Marijuana application process:
Getting your account started is similar to setting up an online account we are all familiar with; First name and last name, address, email, and etc. You will have to enter the basics like your name and address on more than one screen, so remember to copy and paste! It could have been easier if the information had transferred over to the second screen, but other than that the app works great. There is not a lot of information to re-enter, so it’s not too tedious but be prepared to provide a short written description of your medical condition
Video interview for online medical marijuana recommendation:
Once you submit your request, the app notifies you that your application is being processed and surprisingly about 60 seconds later you have an interview scheduled. I had to explain my medical condition, but I didn’t have to trudge up old documentation which helped ease the process tremendously. I have been using marijuana medicinally for pain management and other ailments regularly so I really didn’t have too many questions for the doctor and the interview only lasted a few minutes.
The MMJ Dr. was easy to talk to:
He was polite, respectful, and supportive of my decision to use marijuana instead of other medication. He used the notes I had entered in the app to help guide our discussion. He explained the process and gave me an expected arrival date for my card. Precisely 10 minutes after we ended our call, the email showed up with a copy of my digital recommendation and eta for my card coming in the mail.

Why get a medical card in a state that allows Recreational use?
It was affordable-I paid $79 for my initial recommendation, and ID card and the renewal fees are only $45 if you don’t need a new ID card. I know, I know, why even get a medical recommendation when cannabis is legal for recreational use in California? My small investment will still save me money in the long run. The perks of getting your medical recommendation are not only financially beneficial but also convenient. Medical patients will have the 15% excise tax waived on all purchases and can legally possess and purchase more product than recreational users. In California, MMJ cardholders can buy and possess up to 8 ounces of flower and grow up to 12 plants while recreational users can only purchase and possess up to one ounce of herb, 8 grams of concentrate and 6 plants.
Overall:
While some apps and online services can be tedious and confusing to navigate Onlinemedicalcard.com is the opposite. The MMJ Dr. I spoke with was prepared with my file and had helpful responses to my questions, the app was efficient and ran smoothly from start to finish, which is rare today. There is nothing more frustrating to me like an app that is buggy and stuck on the loading screen! The app was easy to download and navigate, and in less than 30 minutes I had my recommendation in my inbox and my med card in the mail and on the way.
