Here at California Weed Blog we enjoy cannabis privately and socially in many different aspects. One of which being public and exclusive cannabis events or “seshes”. Between both attending and hosting our own events we have seen what the community has to offer in a variety of cities across California. For the most part we have seen a lot of poorly planned out events; from event spaces that are too large or in a less than favorable location, to the opposite scope of packed and uncomfortable, but most importantly not a whole lot of appreciation for vendors and patients.
While in the process of searching for events to include in our monthly calendar, we came across a company called Vendor Expo (previously known as Vendor Sesh). Their website and social media gave the impression of a very professional and established group who were looking to improve cannabis events while connecting retailers, manufactures, and enthusiasts alike . After contacting the organizers we were invited to attend their event held in Newport Beach. Arriving at the Envy Lounge we were both impressed and somewhat surprised by the upscale location chosen for the expo.
Upon entering the venue we saw about 10 vendors setup inside and about 5-6 more outside on the patio area. Every vendor we spoke to was very personable, and extremely knowledgeable of the products and the business they were representing. All were very open to sharing ideas about their companies, growth in cannabis events and the negative stigma attached to the industry. Even the booths at the event were of a different standard than we are used to seeing, very professional and well put together, from packaging to displays and marketing materials. Overall a great experience for any, retailers, manufacturers or consumers!
Eva Better Supplements had a full line of supplement powders that all used non-psychoactive cannibinoids, with one even using THCa that was 13000x stronger than average. The BetterRelief supplement, for example, has 12.44mg of THCa per capsule and 4.14 mg of CBDa along with ginger and turmeric (which de-calcifies the pineal gland).
Relief Cosmetics showed us some cannabinoid creams they have developed for pain and joint relief. The gentleman running (who also had the booth was very informative and talked to us about some of the science behind developing their products.
Cannimal had their full line of non-psychoactive products specifically designed for pet use. This vendor (who also happened to be the owner) told us that the inspiration for her product had come along when her beloved dog was sadly diagnosed with cancer and given only a month to live by Veterinarians. Learning this she began implementing whole plant medicines and and practices extending her dogs life by 6 months. She now strongly stands behind this form of medicine and all it’s beneficial uses with animals.
CBD Drip showed us their awesome and original vape additive, which adds CBD to any vape juice. It can also be used orally and comes in multiple different strengths. Another vape company, Crafted Cannabis Co., had some of the best tasting cartridges we have ever sampled along with beautiful packaging. Their northern lights and girl scout cookies cartridges held true to their names and brought natural terpenes from each strain along with a solid buzz.
We spoke to the owner of Fiddlers Greens who specializes in non psychoactive CBDa and THCa tinctures. He had a special story on the strain he created called Kindred Spirit, named after the boat him and his wife own and also plan to sail around the world. He explained how CBDa can be used to inhibit cancer cell growth, reduce inflammation throughout the body, slow bacterial growth, and reduce or eliminate nausea and vomiting. The THCa relieves pain, aids sleep, suppresses muscle spasms, modulates immune system function, and slows damage to the nervous system and the brain.
The last vendor we spoke to was Nuclear Dabs, they had a super interesting product called a rosin nuke which is basically hash, kief, oil, and rosin all layered in a little ball. It’s meant to be put on top of a bowl and when lit, melts all over the bowl and turns it into a long lasting, very potent smoke. We didn’t have the chance to sample their product but the concept was very intriguing.
It’s companies like these that are innovative, ambitious, and are truly pursuing the full benefits of cannabis that we would love to see more of. These are Vendors who care about their product, patients and the industry. I recommend this event for any retailers or patient who cares about the quality of the product they’re buying, selling and consuming. The biggest problems we face in this industry are the people who still treat it like it’s an underground black market. We can legally hold and attend these events, so why can’t they feel just a little more inviting and professional?
Thank you very much to Vendor Expo for hosting one of the top-notch cannabis events we have had the pleasure of attending, and for inviting us. We hope to attend more in the future!
